
The Association of Movie Producers (AMP) Nigeria has formally suspended Nollywood producer Mr. Chris Odeh, Production Lead of BRS Studios, over allegations of misappropriating 180 million naira. The funds were intended to finance the three productions.
Nollywood veteran actor and filmmaker Ramsey Nouah, alongside entertainment executive Joy Odiete and Filmmaker Chris Odeh, Joined forces to establish a production company aimed at creating high-quality film projects. However, the partnership has come to a halt and is facing major controversy following claims that Chris Odeh misappropriated up to 180 million naira belonging to the company.
On May 4, 2026, AMP announced a decision based on petitions from Ramsey Nouah and Joy Odiete. They Stated:
Chris Odeh acknowledged misappropriating the funds during a disciplinary hearing and has agreed to repay the amount.
The first repayment of a 60-million-naira cheque, scheduled for April 30th, reportedly bounced due to insufficient funds. The Association of Movie Producers (AMP) considers this a breach of agreement and interprets it as a refusal to settle the debt. Consequently, Chris Odeh has been suspended pending further developments.
