Netflix has announced the release of Ordinary People, a new eight-episode series set to premiere globally on the platform this September. The project, which was formally unveiled through Netflix’s official page, had an intriguing tagline: Ordinary people, but there’s nothing ordinary about their lives. The project promises an action-packed and suspense-filled narrative.
Directed by Moses Inwang, the plot is set in an affluent residential community where neat lawns and carefully maintained façades conceal complicated private lives. Residents who appear ordinary in daily interactions carry pasts that begin to collide with present dangers. As old secrets re-emerge, the neighbours are forced to weigh loyalty against self-preservation, ambition against redemption, and the lives they have built against the cost of protecting them.
The cast for Ordinary People includes Ramsey Nouah, Chidi Mokene, Adunni Ade, Sharon Ooja, Genga Titiloye, Uche Montana, Adjetey Anang, Jackie Appiah, Lasisi Elenu, Michelle Dede, Shawn Faqua, Eddy Watson, Henry Orakwe, Bimbo Manuel, Chinonso Egemba, and Chidi Dike.
Ordinary People will be available on Netflix starting September 4, 2026. See the trailer below!
