November promises entertainment and thought-provoking Nollywood Titles. From the Kunle Afolayan thriller “Recall,” to the Igbo epic, “Out of Breath,” and the historical resonance of “The Man Died,” this month’s lineup is set to captivate audiences with diverse storylines. 

Here are the Nollywood titles set to be released this November.

Headless (2024) – November 3

Headless, a feature film and thriller directed by Michael Ndiomu, which will premiere on November 3. Set in the morally complex world of Nollywood, Headless follows the chilling discovery of a decapitated head in the boot of a car belonging to a Nollywood film producer. As investigations unfold, hidden links between crime, politics, and the Nigerian film industry come to light, painting a gritty picture of ambition and corruption.

Starring Gideon Okeke, Uzoamaka Anuinoh, and Baaj Adebule, this action-packed film promises an intense look at the dark intersections of fame and power.

Premieres at AFRIFF 2024 on November 3

Phoenix Fury (2024) – TBD

One of the anticipated films this year, Phoenix Fury, directed by Ifeoma Chukwuogo for Fizzy K Pictures, promises a unique journey across different periods. Though details about the plot remain under wraps, the film’s settings in Nigeria and Ghana hint at an immersive and culturally rich backdrop.

The film features an impressive cast, including Uzoamaka Aniunoh, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Fadekemi Olumide-Aluko, Onyinye Odokoro, Shalewa Ashafa, and Joseph Momodu. This stellar lineup, combined with the film’s multi-era narrative, sets high expectations for Phoenix Fury at AFRIFF 2024.

Recall (2024) – November 7

Recall, the latest psychological feature thriller by Kunle Afolayan, which is set to premiere on November 7. Recall follows the emotional journey of Goke and Anita as their seemingly perfect love story takes a mysterious turn. Starring Sharon Ooja, the film promises to captivate viewers with its suspenseful narrative and complex character arcs.

The story comes to life through a talented cast featuring both Nigerian and international actors, incuding Sharon Ooja, Olarotimi Michael Fakunle, Bolaji Ogunmola, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Tina Mba, Ekpenyong Bassey Inyang, Shan George, Bimbo Akintola, Mama Rainbow, Muyiwa Ademola, Patience Ozokwor, and Abiola Ogunmowo, with a special appearance by Tosin Martins.

Premieres at AFRIFF 2024.

Princess on a Hill (2024) – November 7

Produced by Folashayo Oke Sobo/Chuka Ejorh, and directed by Abiola Sobo/Tolu Ajayi.

Zara Ozara is thrust into the dangerous high stakes world of business and makes her debut at the head of the most powerful boardroom in the country after winning the Lawson Group’s Leading Ladies reality show. She must now save the company from further decline while resisting the dark influence of its enigmatic tyrant who is pulling her strings.

The show stars Mimi Chaka, Andrew Bunting, Eva Iwara, Ireti Doyle, Onyinye Nnenna Odokoro, Femi Jacobs, Bimbo Manuel and may others.

Premieres via Showmax on November 7.

Out of Breath (2024) – November 8

Out of Breath, directed by Obi Emelonye, has been selected as the closing film for AFRIFF 2024. This Igbo-language epic, written by Ngozi Ideh, unfolds in a 1940s Igbo village steeped in tradition, where the revered elder “Nna Obioha” challenges a cruel custom that mandates the sacrifice of a servant upon an elder’s death.

Starring; Kanayo O. Kanayo, Chidi Mokeme, Jide Kene Achufusi, Ebele Okaro, and Queen Nwokoye, Out of Breath is inspired by true events and delves into themes of defiance and resilience against entrenched societal norms.

Domitilla – November 8

Trailer for the remake of Chico Ejiro’s 90’s Blockbuster movie, Domitilla. Four prostitutes at a crossroads must join forces in this tale of survival.

Cast: Teniola Aladese, Uzoamaka Doris Auiunoh, Elvina Ibru, Deyemi Okanlawon, Stan Nze, Ejiro Onojaife and Onyinye Odokoro.

Streaming on Netflix from November 8.

Family Gbese – November 8

“Family Gbese,” a family dramedy directed by Michelle Bello and written by Chinaza Onuzo. The film explores the complexities of loyalty, family, and ambition as the protagonist, Nnamdi (portrayed by Arukwe), faces a life-altering request from his mentor. “Family Gbese” tackles themes deeply rooted in Nigerian culture and society, promising a fun and emotional cinematic experience.

The film boasts a stellar cast, including Teniola Aladese, Lillian Afegbai, Mike Ezuruonye,and veteran actors like Ireti Doyle and Muyiwa Ademola. 

Coming to cinemas nationwide on the 8th of November.

Ekpebiwo M  – November 8

Set in pre-colonial Eastern Nigeria, Ekpebiwo M follows the powerful story of a village chief, portrayed by Nollywood veteran Chidi Mokeme, who turns his back on tradition to embrace Christianity and begin a new journey as an evangelist. His decision is met with fierce resistance from the community, testing the limits of his newfound faith. His wife- played by Ini Edo, also struggles with his new beliefs, afraid that they will be met with dire consequences.

The film highlights the themes of faith, faith, determination, cultural values, and resilience.

Other cast members include Alex Osifo, Jide Kosoko, Ini Edo, Chidi Mokeme, Mary Uche, Chucks Chyk, Patrick Ifeanyi Onyeochatawrycki, and Justice Slik

Coming to cinemas across Nigeria on November 8, 2024.

Miss PJ – November 15

 A young lady on a National Youth Service assignment becomes the saviour of a little town at the mercy of a mysterious killer. This drama is directed by Life and Dirt director, James Abinibi.

The film stars; Charles Okocha, Sola Sobowale, Bimbo Ademoye and many others.

Streaming on Prime Video from November 15.

A Ghetto Love Story – November 22

A Ghetto Love Story explores the complexities of love, relationships, and survival in a bustling, lower-income neighborhood. Through a mix of comedic moments and emotional depth, the film captures the essence of finding love in unexpected places while navigating the challenges of daily life.

The film is directed by Daniel Oriahi and features; Chioma Akpotha, Efe Irele, Beverly  Osu, Comedian Senato, Wole Ojo, Akah Nnani and many others.

Coming to cinemas, on November 22, 2024.

Suspicion – November 28

A young man ventures into the dark depths of black magic after witnessing the ruthless murder of his best friend and his daughter. Consumed by a thirst for vengeance, he faces moral dilemmas and shocking betrayals that threaten to destroy the bonds he holds dear. In this gripping tale of friendship, love, and revenge, he must wrestle with newfound powers and confront the ultimate question: How far will he go to seek justice?

Suspicion boasts an ensemble cast including Stan Nze, Omowunmi Dada, Kalu Ikeagwu, Uzor Arukwe, Shaffy Bello, Tina Mba, Ashafa ‘Small Mummy’ Salamot, Francis Sule, Boma Akpore, Tony Akposheri, and Esegine Orezi Allen.

Streaming on Prime Video from November 28.

Ogbedun – November 29

Directed by Farouk Abisoye (TAMPAN), Ogbedun promises a gripping story of an unacknowledged son, Ogbedun, born to the late Oba Agana through a secret affair with a palace maid. After years spent in exile, Ogbedun returns to his homeland, only to find himself caught in a fierce battle for the throne following the death of a young monarch. The ensuing power struggle between rival families leads to chaos, betrayal, riots, and an unyielding fight for justice.

In the lead role is Nollywood star, Jide Awobona, and is supported by an impressive cast that includes Nollywood icons Jide Kosoko, Antar Laniyan, Akin Lewis, Joke Muyiwa, Miriam Peters, and Babaseun Faseru.

Ogbedun arrives in cinemas nationwide on November 29.
