Nigerian filmmaker and director Tola Odunsi is making his big-screen return with his new film titled 19. After years of creating popular series like The Men’s Club and Flawsome, the acclaimed director is stepping back into cinema with his feature film, his first since the 2018 release of From Lagos with Love.
Tola Odunsi announces via his Instagram page that the movie 19 is set against the backdrop of Nigeria’s early internet era, and the film examines how ambition, opportunity, and influence can blur the line between survival and criminality. 19 will offer a nuanced and thought-provoking look at 419 and the consequences it drags along.
The upcoming thriller’s poster hints at a suspense-filled mystery centered around a high-stakes investigation, complete with sticky notes asking Who? How? and why. 19 is packed with a stellar ensemble cast featuring Stan Nze, Sola Sobowale, Bisola Aiyeola, Deyemi Okanlawon, and Williams Uchemba.
The film, directed by Tola Odunsi, will be distributed by Nile Entertainment. 19 is officially set to hit cinemas nationwide on September 11, 2026.
