Zikoko Life is back with a second edition, bringing another anthology that explores the complexities of love, relationships, identity, and choices. Building on the success of its first installment, Zikoko Life 2 features a blend of returning and new filmmakers, each providing a distinct viewpoint on contemporary Nigerian experiences.
The three new short films are Siraam, directed and written by Uzoamaka Power; Before We Fall Asleep, directed by Kaelo Iyizoba and written by Blessing Uzzi; and A Happy Ending, written and directed by Dika Ofoma. The Three New Series will be produced by Big Cabal Media in partnership with BluHouse Studios.
Siraam by Uzoamaka stars Genoveva Umeh, who will play the role of a wild eccentric young woman discovering herself through the lens of sex, power, agency, and her reproductive health.
While A Happy Ending is a nostalgic ode to classic Nollywood, which stars Ifeoma Obinwa and Ruby Okezie, it follows the story of a young woman who navigates the overwhelming choices of moving to a major new city.
Before We Fall Asleep, is a relationship drama. It follows a couple whose union is thrown into turmoil when the core dynamics of their relationship start to shift. What once seemed like a stable union starts to unravel as changing power dynamics, hidden fears, and unexpressed resentment challenge the couple’s love for one another.
These films continue Zikoko Life’s focus on contemporary Nigerian experiences, particularly regarding love, intimacy, and family expectations. The films will begin streaming globally on Zikoko’s YouTube Channel starting July 25, 2026.
