VSL Media’s action-thriller The Covenant is officially returning for a second season. Following a dominant 10-week run in Netflix’s Top 10, it earned critical recognition across Africa and has been renewed for a second season. The recently released official trailer also gives fans a glimpse into the next chapter—one filled with grit, betrayal, and high-octane suspense.
Created and executive produced by Vincent Okonkwo, the upcoming season is set not only in Nigeria but also in South Africa. The Covenant is a gripping supernatural thriller that revolves around two brothers whose bond is tested by a mysterious disappearance. One brother goes through a lot of perilous journeys in a relentless search for his presumed-dead brother; the first series explored themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the consequences of wielding power.
Season 2 will be directed by filmmaker King Shaft, who is taking over the director’s chair following the passing of the original director. In this new season, expect Gideon Okeke, who continues his role as Dagogo; then we have the veteran Nollywood actress Sola Sobowale as Stella. The cast continues to boast heavyweights like Zubby Michael, Segun Arinze, Uzee Arinze, Uzee Usman, Ivie Okujaye, and Tope Olowoniyan.
While The Covenant Season 1 tackled complex themes of survival, brotherhood, and human trafficking, Season 2 promises to dive deeper into regional crime syndicates and intense action choreography. The Covenant Season 2 now has an official trailer and has announced November 6th as its official premiere date on Netflix.
