Idris Elba Will Direct ‘Dust To Dreams’ For Mo Abudu’s EbonyLife Studios

Idris Elba will be directing a short film titled “Dust To Dreams”. The film is a collaboration between Mo Abudu’s EbonyLife Films and the African Export Import Bank (Afreximbank) through its Creative Africa Nexus initiative (Canex).

Set in Lagos, Nigeria, the story explores the relationship between a mother and her teenage daughter as the daughter meets her father for the first time.

Elba will be directing actors including singer Seal and Nollywood stars Nse Ikpe-Etim, Eku Edewor, and Atlanta Bridget Johnson. Former Nigerian Idol contestant Constance Olatunde will also be part of the cast.

Mo Abudu will serve in multiple roles as creator, executive producer, and producer. Heidi Uys is the supervising producer, while Temidayo Makanjuola, Inem King, and Vanessa Demme are also producers on the project
