Azure Studios is redefining Nollywood’s approach to film technology. In a landmark collaboration with Lolia Studios, the company spearheaded a groundbreaking workshop designed to tackle one of the industry’s most overlooked challenges—data management.
Over the course of three days, the event went beyond basic training. It was a strategic move to bridge the gap between production and post-production, ensuring Nigerian filmmakers can compete on a global scale. Participants engaged in hands-on learning, mastering digital imaging, data wrangling, and workflow efficiency under the guidance of industry experts.
Leading these sessions were three seasoned professionals, each bringing a unique perspective. Olayinka Kasali, a Digital Imaging Technician (DIT) with a decade of experience on major projects like Breath of Life and Finding Messiah, broke down advanced digital imaging workflows. Meanwhile, Damilola Adeyeri, whose work spans Lisabi and A Christmas in Lagos, provided insights into how Nollywood can align with global technical standards. At the same time, Ates Brown, the Creative Lead at Lolia Studios, ensured that attendees grasped the essentials of data management—an aspect often neglected yet critical to post-production success.
Beyond technical skills, the workshop fostered collaboration. A panel discussion featuring industry leaders such as Allen Onyige, Awa Holmes, and Adeniyi “Taj” Joseph reinforced the urgency of integrating efficient data practices into Nollywood’s filmmaking process. Through this discussion, their message was clear: the future of Nigerian cinema depends on innovation, precision, and intentional knowledge-sharing.
For Azure Studios and Lolia Studios, however, this initiative was about more than just skill-building. The workshop, held in celebration of Women’s Month, underscored the growing influence of women in film technology. More importantly, it marked a shift—not just in technical training but in the industry’s commitment to excellence.
As the workshop concluded, one thing was evident: this was just the beginning. The momentum it created signals a new era for Nollywood—one where data management is no longer an afterthought but a cornerstone of production quality. With this breakthrough, Azure Studios is leading the charge toward a more efficient, globally competitive industry.
