Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Femi Adebayo has officially announced Jagun Jagun 2: War of Warriors, the sequel to his 2023 historical Yoruba epic, set to premiere globally on Netflix on December 4, 2026. This Marks three years since the first instalment, Jagun Jagun: The Warrior made its global debut.
According to Wikipedia, the original Jagun Jagun raised the bar for Nigerian cinematic epics, within just 48 hours of it release. It also stormed the Netflix Top 10 charts in 18 countries spanning the United Kingdom and beyond. It had millions of views and also won the Best Indigenous Film Award at the 10th Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCA).
Produced by Femi Adebayo’s production company, Euphoria360 Media, with visual effects and post-production handled in collaboration with Niyi Akinmolayan’s Anthill Studios.
The teaser shows the summoning and return of a name that remains a curse whispered behind closed doors: Ogundiji. Its narrative hints at an exploration of how warriors shape kingdoms – as protectors who preserve order or as forces of terror that leave destruction in their wake.
The first instalment Jagun Jagun, featured Femi Adebayo, Lateef Adedimeji, Odunlade Adekola, Bukunmi Oluwashina, and Ibrahim Yekini. For this upcoming sequel, the cast list has not been confirmed, though we expect familiar faces alongside new additions.
The new teaser leans heavily into themes of vengeance, political turmoil, and war. So, if you haven’t seen the first instalment or want to refresh your memory, you can still catch it on Netflix before the sequel’s release.
