Thin Line by Nigerian filmmaker Mercy Aigbe is set to make its Netflix debut on October 1, 2025. Following an impressive run at the Nigerian box office.
Directed by Akay Mason and produced by Mercy Aigbe, the film was first released in cinemas nationwide on December 13, 2024. Recall that this wasn’t Mercy Aigbe’s first December blockbuster, as she had released Ada Omo Daddy the year before. The film concluded its run with a total of ₦218 million. Making it the 25th-highest-grossing Nigerian film.
For Thin Line, it opened with ₦26.07 million over its first weekend. And went on to gross a total of ₦130.10 million before exiting theatres. It’s a bold tale of self-discovery, that follows the story of a pastor entangled in a scandal with a sex worker. Offering audiences a mix of drama, controversy, and moral questioning.
The film delves into the delicate line separating righteousness from transgression, unpacking themes of morality, redemption, and the far-reaching impact of a single lapse in judgment. At its core, it challenges viewers to consider whether faith can endure human imperfection. And if true redemption is attainable after profound mistakes
