Produced by Vincent Okonkwo, The Covenant joins the list of Nollywood movies set to debut this holiday. With a December release date, the trailer promises an action-packed series.
Shot in the southern part of Nigeria earlier in the year, The Covenant hints at a story of survival and rescue. Although it weighs heavily on action, it holds other elements like the supernatural, history and drama. This makes its genre very distinct. The trailer also assures the audience of excellent cinematography as it boasts of a South African DOP, Peter Moloto.
Directed by Dimeji Ajibola, the show features a star-studded cast list which includes: Gideon Okeke, Sola Sobowale, Temitope Olowoniyan, Uzee Usman, Segun Arinze, Zybby Micheal, Bimbo Manuel, Ivie Okujaye, Chioma Okafor, Walter Anga, Joseph Momodu and Chinoso Arubayi.
The Covenant is distributed by Blue Film Distribution and will commence streaming on Netflix (Africa) and Kava TV (International) on December 12, 2025.
