The trailer has been released for Son of the Soil, the Nigerian-set action film from British-Chinese director Chee Keong Cheung, led by British-Nigerian actor Razaaq Adoti, and slated to hit cinemas across Nigeria on October 31, 2025. The film is being distributed by Nile Entertainment.
A Homecoming Story with High Stakes
Shot entirely in Nigeria, Son of the Soil follows the story of Zion Ladejo (Razaaq Adoti), a former special operations soldier wrestling with memories of a violent past. When his sister is brutally murdered by a drug cartel with protection from corrupt officials, Zion returns home to seek justice. What begins as a personal mission soon unravels into a fight for truth, survival, and redemption.
An Ensemble of Legends and Rising Stars
The cast blends Nollywood veterans and newer talents. Confirmed names include: Ireti Doyle, Patience Ozokwor, Sharon Rotimi, Damilola Ogunsi, Taye Arimoro, Sunshine Rosman, Philip Asaya, Toyin Oshinaike, Durotimi Okutagidi.
The film is produced by Andreas Roald (Sovereign Films CEO), Razaaq Adoti, Chee Keong Cheung, Ioanna Karavela, and Wingonia Ikpi of Boxonia Blueprint.

Son of the Soil is an Action Xtreme production, with the company’s expertise in combat choreography and practical stunt work shaping its high-intensity sequences. According to the producers, the project aims to bring a globally competitive action aesthetic while rooting its story firmly in Nigerian soil.
Distribution and What’s Next
Nile Entertainment acquired the theatrical distribution rights across Africa and will spearhead the film’s rollout. Beyond its cinema release, the title is expected to appear at international festivals before moving to streaming platforms.
The film also serves as the flagship of a new first-look partnership between Action Xtreme and Nile Entertainment, aimed at co-producing and distributing more action-genre films and series on the continent.
