New Nollywood Movies to See in October 2025

Happy new month Nollywood fam! This month is on track to be one of Nollywood’s busiest in 2025. Rom-coms, thrillers, dramas, comedy, horror, October has them all!

Without further ado, here is are the Nollywood titles on our radar this October. Oya now, let’s go!

Her Excellency – October 1

In this powerful political drama, a high-ranking female official navigates the murky waters of leadership, ethics, and legacy as Nigeria stands on the brink of change.

Starring Femi Adebayo Salami, Sola Sobowale, Odunlade Adekola, Faithia Williams, Yemisi Solade, Bimbo Ademoye, Aisha Lawal, Kiekie, and many more, Her Excellency is a family affair, directed and produced by Adebayo Salami.

It debuts on Kava on October 1, 2025.

Thin Line – October 1

Directed by Akay Mason and produced by Mercy Aigbe, Thin Line was first released in cinemas nationwide on December 13, 2024. The film delves into the delicate line separating righteousness from transgression, unpacking themes of morality, redemption, and the far-reaching impact of a single lapse in judgment.

The cast includes Uzor Arukwe, Uche Montana, Iyabo Ojo, Yvonne Jegede, Adeniyi Johnson, Abdulgafar Abiola, Olaiya Igwe, Prisma James, Yekini Ibrahim, and Mercy Aigbe.

Thin Line is set to make its Netflix (Local) and Kava (International) debut on October 1, 2025. 

Men’s Code – October 3

Three ladies embark on a journey to find ways to keep their men, only for one of them to slip and scatter the secret box. Starring: Ramsey Nouah, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Yvonne Okoro, and Enyinna Nwigwe.

Men’s Code will premiere in cinemas on October 3, 2025.

Almost Perfect – October 10

A small-town girl moves to Lagos to pursue her dreams of becoming a fashion designer and must overcome significant odds to achieve her goals. The movie stars Kate HenshawToke MakinwaBimbo Manuel, and Omowunmi Dada, among others.

Almost Perfect premieres in cinemas nationwide from October 10th.

Koma – October 10

Three generations. One curse. An unyielding fight for freedom, love and survival. Starring: Bolanle Ninalowo, Eso Dike, Tomi Ojo, Emem Ufot, Omeche Oko. Koma will premiere in cinemas on 10 October 2025.

Osamede – October 17

A young orphan with supernatural powers as she leads a resistance against the British forces with the power of the Aruosa stone, an ancient artefact of the people of Benin Kingdom.

The film stars Ivie Okujaye Egboh, Lexan Aisosa Peters, William Benson, Etinosa Idemudia, Lancelot Imasuen, Tosin Adeyemi, Alexander Bud, and Paulo Bazele. It is executive-produced by Lilian Olubi under Gold Lilies Productions and written by Lolo Eremie.

In cinemas Nationwide from October 17, 2025.

The Herd – October 17

What happens when the happiest day of your life…becomes the fight for your life? A couple’s wedding day is disrupted by unforeseen dangers, forcing them to confront hidden truths and fight for survival. 

Written by Lani Asida and directed by Daniel Etim Effiong, the film stars: Daniel Etim, Genoveva Umeh, Kunle Remi, Norbert Young, Bolaji Ogunmola, Tina Mba, Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, Patrick Doyle, Jaiye Kuti, Adedimeji Lateef, Deyemi Okanlawon, Mercy Aigbe, Emeka Nwagbarocha, and Abba A. Zakky.

In cinemas nationwide on October 17, 2025.

The Exco – October 17

The Exco is a political drama about an idealistic new leader who steps into government and faces backroom deals, betrayal and pressure to compromise. The political drama features Femi Branch, Jide Kosoko, Deyemi Okanlawon, Scarlet Gomez, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Lizzy Jay, and Olarotimi Fakunle.

In cinemas nationwide from October 17, 2025.

Farmer’s Bride – October 17

Set in 1980s Ibadan, the film follows Odun (Femi Branch), a wealthy yet reclusive farmer who finds unexpected companionship in Funmi (Gbubemi Ejeye), a young woman from a nearby village. Their bond is soon shattered when Odun’s nephew Femi (Tobi Bakre) and Funmi conspire against him, leading to his untimely death. But what begins as a calculated plot spirals into terror as the vengeful spirit of the farmer returns to haunt them.

The star-studded ensemble includes Tobi Bakre, Gbubemi Ejeye, Efe Irele, Mercy Aigbe, Wunmi Toriola, and Femi Branch. Notably, Mercy Aigbe’s performance earned her the Best Supporting Actress award at the 11th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).

Farmer’s Bride heads to Netflix on October 17.

Idia – October 24

Idia a naive orphan gets adopted by a strange family as their housekeeper, but must help their lineage continue at the expense of her sanity. Starring Nollywood powerhouses Mercy Aigbe, Linda Osifo, Gbubemi Ejeye, and Tope Tedela, the film also features veteran filmmaker-turned-actor Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen 

Co-directed by Ese Ariremu and Jide “Jblaze” Oyegbile, Idia premieres in cinemas nationwide from October 24th.

Tare – October 24

A Journey through pain, survival and the echoes of abandonment. A young woman abandons her children and husband because she feels her husband cant provide the kind of life she wants. In search of better life TARE moves from one man to another, hoping to find a better man to take care of her.

Starring: Toyin Abraham, Tracy Brakemi Obahor, Baba Rex, Jide kene, Ibinabo Fiberesima, Elewaremi Perekeme and others

Coming to cinemas in Nigeria from 24th October 2025.


Son of the Soil – October 31

Nigerian soldier Zion Ladejo, haunted by his past, returns home after his sister’s tragic death. Determined to uncover those responsible, he embarks on a vengeful path, while seeking redemption for his own actions.

The film stars Razaq Adoti (Black Hawk Down), Iretiola Doyle (Fifty, Arbitration), Sunshine Rosman (Flawsome, Finding Messiah), Philip Asaya (Cake, Slum King), Damilola Ogunsi (The Weekend, Gangs of Lagos), Taye Arimoro (Casa La Novia, The House of Secrets), Emeka Golden (Joe, Ije Awele), Sharon Rotimi (Chronicles) and James ‘BlacQ’ Damilare.

Son of the Soil premieres in cinemas nationwide from October 31.
