Over The Bridge — September 5

Nile Entertainment recently announced September 5, 2025, as the nationwide cinematic release for Over The Bridge.

Dara — September 5

TikTok sensation Dara gains admission into school but campus life is nothing like what he expected. Trapped in a web of toxic love, cultism, and campus violence. His only escape? Dance. His only strength? Passion. But one dangerous moment threatens everything. His freedom, his girl, even his life…

Starring veteran actress Tina Mba, rising star Tomi Ojo, Riyo David, and Raymond Umenze, the film offers a deeply emotional and culturally grounded story that highlights love in the vibrant oil city of Port Harcourt. Director Bobby Rak explores themes of romance and second chances in a setting rarely portrayed in Nigerian cinema. With its mix of local flavour and universal appeal, the story challenges the typical love narratives often shown on screen.

Blue Pictures handles distribution and will premiere Dara in cinemas nationwide on September 5, 2025.

Gammy and The Living Things  — September 5

An agama lizard finds the perfect excuse to exchange the boring and slow-paced life of the Hinterland for the fast-paced and success-paved streets of Lagos. With his band of music-loving friends, they set out on an arduous but event-filled adventure to make it big and conquer Lagos. Will they find success or redemption?This animated movie stars; Jude Abaga, Bovi Ugboma, Pete Edochie, Joke Silva and many others.

Gammy and The Living Things will premiere in cinemas, September 5, 2025.

A Weekend Fiasco — September 5

Samuel Olatunji’s A Weekend Fiasco is next on our list. A wife seeking an escape from her troubled marriage, embarks on a weekend getaway with a potential lover only for her plans to unravel in a whirlwind of chaos involving familiar faces and unexpected twists.

The film stars; Ini Edo, Alex Ekubo, Yvonne Jegede, Odunlade Adekola, Liquorose, Chimezie Imo and many others.

A Weekend Fiasco is coming to cinemas nationwide September 5, 2025.

Amanyanabo (The Eagle King) — September 12

Chosen by the goddess Tamunoba, Ibanichuka becomes king of Okrika and must hold his people together through betrayal, war, and a clash of faiths.

The epic film will also have performances from Nkem Owoh, Monalisa Chinda Coker, Walter Anga, Uju Okoli, Lucien Morgan, Gentle Jack, Columbus Irisanga.

Premieres in cinemas, September 12.

The Waiter — September 12

Another Akpors adventure. This time he takes a temporary job as a waiter at Crystal Hotel for an event hosted by the Minister of Poverty Alleviation, where a scheme to assist the underprivileged is being launched.

The film stars AY Makun, Deyemi Okanlawon, Regina Daniels, Toke Makinwa, Shaffy Bello, Kunle Remi, Buchi Franklyn, and Williams Uchemba.

Streaming on Netflix from September 12.

Family Brouhaha — September 12

A family rife with conflict as a result of childhood trauma: a worried mother whose children have forgotten their roles, duties, and obligations. Their fixation on inheritance clouds their ability to see through each others pains and struggles. This occurrence eventually leads to an unexpected and disappointing heart-wrenching shock that would make or break the family.

The Film is directed by Femi Adebayo and features familiar names—Gabriel Afolayan, Wale Ojo, Shaffy Bello, Joke Silva and many others.

Premieres on Circuits, September 12, 2025.

My Father’s Shadow — September 19

My Father’s Shadow was co-written by Davies Jr. and his brother Wale Davies. The feature is set against the backdrop of the 1993 Nigerian presidential election. It tells the story of two young brothers, Remi and Akin, who spend a day in Lagos with their estranged father, Folarin. The cast includes English actor Sope Dirisu, Godwin Chiemerie Egbo, Chibuike Marvellous Egbo, Uzoamaka Aniunoh and Winifred Efon.

The feature is set to debut locally on September 19, 2025 and will be distributed by Film One.

Ibobo: The Blind Seer — September 19

A blind man whose visions reveal truths beyond ordinary sight. As he guides the people around him, his insight uncovers secrets, challenges, and unexpected twists. Directed by Godwin Onwuneme Obiora, the film features; Pete Edochie, Nkem Owoh, Alex Osifo, Gideon Okeke, Ebele Okaro, Uloma Eze, Christopher Omenyi, and Raji Lawal.

Ibobo: The Blind Seer is Coming to cinemas nationwide on September 19.

Ginger — September 25

Yemi Morafa’s Ginger.Starring; Wunmi Toriola, KieKie, Bolaji Ogunmola, Bisola Aiyeola, who also serve as executive producers. Directed by Yemi ‘Filmboy’ Morafa, GingeRRR also stars Shaffy Bello, Odunlade Adekola, Adedimeji Lateef, Timini Egbuson, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Shammah Agah, Kamo, Adebowale Adedayo, Emeka Okoye.
