Award-winning actor Daniel Etim-Effiong is stepping behind the camera for the first time with his directorial debut, The Herd, which is set to open in cinemas nationwide on Friday, October 17, 2025.
Co-produced by FilmOne Studios, ToriTori Films, Serendipity HHC, and Airscape, the film represents a significant milestone in Etim-Effiong’s career and Nollywood’s growing body of auteur-driven storytelling.
A Story Rooted in Family, Faith, and Tradition
The Herd follows a community elder’s struggle to preserve his values and family in the face of shifting beliefs and generational tension. The film explores themes of legacy, faith, and leadership through the lens of a family drama set in a rural backdrop.
The story centers on Eze, a respected community leader whose moral authority is tested when tragedy and betrayal threaten the unity of his household.

While Etim-Effiong directs, the film also features a powerful ensemble cast including Adesua Etomi-Wellington, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, Kate Henshaw, Kunle Remi, and Efa Iwara.
