Latest Nollywood Blockbuster Behind the Scenes, directed and produced by Nollywood actress Funke Akindele on December 15, 2025, is set to begin streaming on Netflix next month. Following her successful three-year partnership with Prime Video, this film marks Funke Akindele’s first project on Netflix since Omo Ghetto: The Saga.
A production carried out under her own TV Network, Funke Ayotunde Akindele Network (FAAN), with co-direction from Tunde Olaoye and distribution by filmOne. Behind the Scenes tells the emotional struggles of a successful real estate mogul, Ronke Fernandez, as she faces the pressures of family expectations and the sacrifices she makes for her loved ones. The film explores deep themes of family, dynamics, greed, emotional debt, and the toll that being a breadwinner takes on individuals.
Since its release, Behind the Scenes has dominated not just the box office, grossing over 2.7 billion across West Africa, but it has broken records as the top-performing Nollywood title in international markets like the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States, and Canada.
Funke Akindele leads an ensemble cast alongside Tobi Bakre, Iyabo Ojo, Scarlet Gomez, Ibrahim Chatta, Uche Montana, Iyabo Ojo, Uzor Arukwe, and Mr. Macaroni. Their performances coupled with Funke Akindele’s effort into the project has brought depth and emotion to the story told.
