A remake of Issakaba by Lancelot Oduwa is currently in production. Issakaba is Bakassi spelled backwards. It was written and produced in 2001 by Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen.

When the movie was released, it became a cultural phenomenon. It draws inspiration from true events.

The story revolves around the Bakassi Boys, a group of young men led by Ebube. Their mission is to combat the rampant crime plaguing their community, including armed robberies and murders. But these are no ordinary criminals; they possess mystical powers, adding a layer of chilling horror to the action-packed narrative.

Ebube, determined to protect his people, embarks on a journey to acquire similar powers, setting the stage for an epic clash between good and evil. The film seamlessly blends action, horror, and drama, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats throughout.

While the 2001 film holds a special place in cinematic history, the story continues! He shared it on Instagram.

The movie has an impressive cast, including Sam Dede, Chiwetalu Agu, and Pete Eneh, who are reprising their iconic roles.

The new cast also includes Chidi Mokeme, Big Brother alumna Phyna, Sanni Danger, Nosa Rex, and many more talented actors.

With a renewed vision and a star-studded cast, the Issakaba saga is poised to captivate audiences once again.

While many people believe that classics should remain classics, it might just be nostalgia talking. It’s always interesting to reimagine a classic with different themes that reflect the current society, seeing how it fits in today’s world.

Though people claim to be tired of remakes, nostalgia will still make them watch the remade movies.

One thing is for sure: We’re anticipating the return of Issakaba.
