Culture publication Zikoko, a flagship brand of Big Cabal Media, is excited to announce the release of the second season of HER, a docuseries that highlights the stories of five inspiring Nigerian women. These women have achieved financial success, built strong businesses, and developed profitable personal brands despite facing numerous challenges.
Last year, Zikoko brought stories of remarkable women who have built their own spaces in various sectors. The first centres on Ibukun IBK Akinola, co-founder and payments director at PiggyVest. Akinola opens up about her pivotal role in managing backend operations for a company that processed over 835 billion naira in user disbursements in 2024 alone.
The next was Tara Oluwatomisin, a professional footballer-turned-henna artist; Hassana Maina followed, a lawyer who empowers women in displaced communities; and last was Nneka Nnanna, a self-taught linguist and Korean content creator.
In this second season of Her: The docuseries, the story goes beyond the accolades and tells the stories of five unique Nigerian women. These women faced economic uncertainty yet chose to build businesses, creating lucrative enterprises that offer tremendous value to the communities they operate in.
Each episode features a HER queen who redefined industries and created new blueprints for success by seeking out solutions to difficult problems.
Her: the docuseries is part of Zikoko’s broader transition to the story campaign, which aims to reshape narratives around women’s financial independence and autonomy. Through storytelling Zikoko has shown that with determination, focus and drive, any woman can become a change agent.
The Docuseries launches today, Saturday, March 7, on Zikoko’s YouTube channel.
